Driving on the Ayalon

Although I disappointedly discovered I wasn't the only one, with the brilliant idea of filming while driving...
What the hell, here it is:
Driving on the Ayalon while listening to the eternal David Bowie.
Enjoy!

Tender

Other then the fact that "Blur" are just the coolest ever,
this song will always remind me of a very special event I took a part in.
You know I'm talking about you (Guy&Reut)

Food in Processe... Eataly

Eataly
Cris and Raff
Food in progress

When in Rome... eat like in Turin, or rather discover some of  Italy's Eataly's finest.
All the magic is there: four floors of this amazing fooding concept.
Crazy thing really, all you could possibly imagine that is italian produce, and much more.
Plus the restaurants and bars, that go with it, (if you're in the mood to have a quick taste on the spot).
It's a place I would recommend to anybody going to Rome.
Moving on...
Another plus: Raffaella's Photos exhibition "food in progress" smartly exposed in the middle of a hype food scene .
Last thing:
All the best for the new year!
Big changes are coming theconcepdresser's way!!!
Just wait and see

Peter Piper tongue twister

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked.
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Where's the peck of pickled peppers that Peter Piper picked?

Riveting stuff!

Walking

Life IS an adventure, and what we wear helps us experience it better.

So London...

Could this be anywhere else?
So the question that comes to mind, should we, or shouldn't we be wearing union jacks, rolling stones symbol, or the David Bowie's flash?!!!
How come, regardless of the overdose, it always seems like a good idea to wear a "so London/60's/70's/ Carnaby street style" T's, sweats, shirts, accessories... and the list goes on?!.
These are just questions I'm sending into the void.
Anybody?

There are all kinds of conceptdressers... Jerusalem, old city

This is just a perfect example of how, we just do what we can*.
Heavy religious restrictions?
No worries, just (evidently) do it!

*Personaly I thought this was an excellent outfit

comfort food...#4 herbal teas

Special herbal blends take you away to far away places (if you let them),
or at least to a luxurious spa.
"Let your mind go and your body will follow" (L.A. story),
sorry for the cheese (and no, that's not another food inspiration)
.

Comfort food... inspiration # 3 baked goods

Here we're really down to basic gluten cravings.
Nothing fancy, nor refined.
Good old baked goods
.

comfort food... inspiration #2 suger rush

That sweet sweet sweetness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr in the teeth and...
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm in the tummy
.

comfort food ... inspiration # 1

Holiday food really,
when you want to treat yourself to something yummy ,
without committing to anything too serious

bad hair/good hair days, in London (say no more, I say)

Bad hair day! You don't know what that means?
Who are you people, who are not of this world?
Idly, living a life in the good hair days bubble
(or simply not giving a rat's ass. Who are you people who don't use the phrase: rat's ass?).
Unfortunately I do give a rat's ass (yes, I'm one of those people), and with the seasonal drizzly days, sometimes you just need to get creative.
A parka, a hoodie, a rain-coat, the latter being very old fashioned but highly usefull.
A simple umbrella just wouldn't cut it, with all the user friendly humidity, unless it's the effect you're looking for.
A bun, a bob, a pony-tail, a pleat, a hat (with the latter you risk having bad hair for other reasons or simply looking over zealous).
In order to avoid as much as possible these hair mishaps, check the weather, be equipped with hair pins elastics hats etc.
Or just stay clear of Europe (but wouldn't that be a shame?)(or just don't give a rat's ass)

More on the reccuring question of hats in the city

As opposed to other kinds of hats
such as cowboy hats, hats worn for athletic purposes, or even royal crowns,
city hats are mostly worn for no other purpose, then pure fashion.
Which is probably why they are very often abandoned , soon after purchase.

Hawaiian shirts

Here is one clothing item icon that is forever classic and timeless.
This is not fashion, this is pure love.
It's very democratic, not necessarily expansive, no need to worry about the cut or the brand...
Anybody can pull it off, it's only a question of "a state of mind".
For TheConceptDresser at heart,
here now and everywhere  forever,
viva the Hawaiian shirt

Barcelona life

Within the greyness of the old walls, the city is all about colour
.

Beautiful Cati and Pancho

Her,
a wonderful artist of graphics textiles and paintings,
him,
a photographer with great sensitivities.
Together,
true Barcelonians (is this correct?):
they never planned to stay but they do,
love the simplicity and easygoing-ness (?) of the city,
and Havaianas aficionados ("we only live in places where we can wear Havaianas").
It was so cool hanging out.
Love

What do I really think about Crocs... London

Just don't get me started, on this anti- fashion anti- style anti- good taste of any kind,
clumsy looking, ridiculously coloured, and ugly ugly shaped foot holder (could I bring myself to call it footwear?).
But just as a footnote really (get it?), this Crocs bearer(photo above) really pulled it off (I thought).
Thus I must conclude, that although highly unattractive,
some  lucky very few, can actually pull it off.

Paris/Tokyo

It's probably not a coincidence, that some famous Japanese designers
(Kenzo Yohji Yamamoto Rei Kawakubo), share their time between Paris and Tokyo.
Something to do probably with similar sensibilities of high class and timeless style.
So funny and perfect to see Japanese Budhas in Place van Dôme .
Also so perfect this perfectly stylish gentleman, unintentionally entered the frame
.

Back to travelling

I'm in my element when I travel, and in my element-est when I hang out with a good friend who inspires me.
Although sometimes we get carried away, looking for an ephemeral boutique, one of us remembers from way back when... (we go back from way back when)
But on the way we'll discover other things which are different,
or at least we'll have a good laugh about it.
Moving on...
Got a lot of thinking about fashion done, and realised that not many things get me excited, having seen so much.
It's really the clever twists that get me going, beautiful quality and timeless style.
Most importantly feeling great as yourself,
is what it's all about.
Baci
XOXOXOX

Fuchsia

For me Fuchsia is the gay (as in happy) side of navy blue, the exact opposite if you will.
Not that I don't love navy blue, I mean, who doesn't? (anyone, anyone?).
It's so beautifully perfect, so calm and serene.
It brings out the best in us.
On the other side of the colour palette: Fuchsia,
I mean, how can you not who doesn't love it? (anyone, anyone?).
It has strength and force and presence...
It's as bright as bright can be.
It brings out the best of us

Cannes 2013

SWIMMING TRUNKS HANGING OUT TO DRY ON VILLA GARBO'S BALCONY
PALM TREES, BUT WHAT YOU DON'T SEE IS THE BUSY SUPERMARKET ACROSS THE ROAD
CANNES BEACH (NO WORDS COME TO MIND...)
CANNES RALLY AND ALL THAT JAZZ
"LA CROISETTE", NO RED CARPET IN SIGHT

This is the Cannes I saw...
