Why I went to the salon du vintage in Paris and didn't buy a thing

1. Because mostly it was flooded by 20 year old Asian girls, who think anything older then 3 years, is a great vintage find

2. Because vintage as a word is miss-used and mostly what is sold as vintage, is really just some second hand stuff

3. Because to go through a sea of horrible synthetic 70's shirts, is hardly inspiring.

4. Because it felt like there was no real knowledgeable selection made, everything was on sale, like some ladies were trying to get rid of their old clothes.

5. Because real vintage has real design value, and not necessarily a designer name. It is unique, and should be presented as such... with respect...with space

6. Because it should be in impeccable condition, or else it's a real downer

7. Because after a while the smell of old clothes gets to you.

8. Because at some point you just want to go out and buy something new that will be worth keeping, someday becoming your own personal vintage.
